(“High Tide” or the “Company”) (CSE:HITI) (OTCQB:HITIF) (FRA:2LY), an Alberta-based, retail-focused cannabis corporation enhanced by the manufacturing and wholesale distribution of smoking accessories and cannabis lifestyle products, today announced that Canna Cabana was selected by random algorithmic draw as the Successful Retailer for the community of Niverville during Manitoba’s Cannabis Retail Opportunities Draw (the “Draw”) held on May 15, 2019. The opportunity will permit Canna Cabana to be licensed by the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba to operate a bricks-and-mortar retail store in Niverville as well as e-commerce sales serving the entire province. As the parent company of Canna Cabana, High Tide has confirmed its interest in the Niverville license.
The Town of Niverville, Manitoba has a current population of approximately 4,000 people and is located 30 kilometres south of greater Winnipeg, which has a population approaching 800,000 people. “We are very happy to have won the best location of the seven in the Draw and greatly look forward to bringing the Canna Cabana experience to the residents of Niverville and Winnipeg,” said Raj Grover, President and Chief Executive Officer of High Tide. “Canna Cabana is a one-stop cannabis and accessories shop that we expect will appeal strongly to customers and the High Tide team is excited to enter Manitoba as its fifth Canadian province”, added Mr. Grover. The Town of Niverville is currently celebrating its 50th year since incorporation and continues to benefit from the high rate of growth it has experienced over the last ten years.
High Tide currently has 13 Canna Cabana retail locations licensed in Alberta and continues to advance its next 23 locations, which are under various stages of development and construction. In Ontario, two Canna Cabana-branded retail cannabis locations in Hamilton and Sudbury were opened on April 20th and both are performing strongly in each market, with the next branded retail cannabis location in downtown Toronto opening in the coming weeks. In Saskatchewan, the Company is progressing through the last steps to complete two pending retail cannabis acquisitions. Lastly, across Alberta, British Columbia and Nova Scotia there are 13 Smoker’s Corner accessories shops, of which five are corporately owned and eight are franchises.
